This cutting and serving board is cut from walnut wood, a species with deep brown tones and a pronounced grain that brings warmth to the worktop and to the table alike. It is as happy slicing vegetables, cutting bread or carving meat as it is presenting cheese, charcuterie or appetisers: one piece moves from preparation to serving without changing boards.
Walnut is a dense wood that is resistant to scratches, standing up to daily knife work while keeping its polished appearance. The natural tones vary slightly from one board to the next, each piece carrying its own pattern of grain. Five sizes are available to suit the way you use it: 23 x 15 cm for a lemon or a small aperitif board, 36 x 16 cm and 38 x 18 cm for serving, 40 x 14 cm for a baguette, and 40 x 22 cm for everyday chopping.
To preserve the finish of the wood, the board is washed by hand only, never in the dishwasher, which would damage the surface. A little food-safe mineral oil, applied from time to time, nourishes the wood, revives its colour and protects it for years to come. A simple object, useful every day and handsome enough to stay out on the table.
