This wooden farmhouse is both a shape sorter and a play setting. It comes with ten farm animal figures, and each animal has its own opening: your child works out where the cow fits, where the pig goes, and sorts the figures by shape and size. Once all the animals are inside, the farmhouse opens up, the figures come out again and the game starts over, or they are set out in the yard for pretend play.
The figures also lend themselves to storytelling: who sleeps in the barn, who heads off to the fields, who comes home first in the evening. It is a quiet, screen-free game to share, with an adult telling the story and the child moving the animals around. Every piece stores inside the farmhouse, which has a handle on the roof, so it travels easily for a visit to the grandparents or an afternoon at a friend's house. It measures 16.5 x 16 x 19 cm and weighs 925 g.
The farmhouse and the figures are made of wood. To clean them, wipe with a dry or damp cloth and avoid prolonged contact with liquids. The toy is recommended from age 3. With its classic look, it makes a birthday or Christmas gift idea for a child who loves animals, in the spirit of Montessori-inspired toys, to give from parents or grandparents and to keep for years.
