Satin resembles none of the usual upholstery fabrics: it is smooth, cool to the first touch, and its sheen follows the movement of the light instead of staying put. The SilkEmbrace cushion cover takes that quality and turns it into an elegant solid, with no pattern and no decorative topstitching, playing on reflection alone. Placed on a bed rather than a sofa, it gives a bedroom a groomed, almost hotel-like air for very little effort.
Two versions are offered, A and B, and they can be combined on a single headboard so that one cushion does not simply repeat the next. There is a single format, 45 x 45 cm, the size of the most widespread sofa and bedside cushions. The tailored cut draws the satin taut over the insert, which keeps creasing down and shows off the even sheen of the fabric across the whole surface.
The zip is concealed in the seam, which is all the more useful on a lustrous fabric where any visible closure would be noticed straight away. The cover is sold without an insert: it slips over the cushions you already own without adding anything to the back of the cupboard. Care is a gentle machine wash, and the fabric keeps both its structure and its colour through regular laundering.
